“Trompe l’oeil” is a French term which means “deceive the eye”. Trompe l’oeil is a painting technique that uses realistic imagery to create an illusion that an object exists in three dimensions. This painting employs Trompe l’oeil technique with the blue flat paint brush and rubber band. They appear to be fastened to the top of an abstract painting.  From across the room, the paint brush and rubber band look real.
