Campfire

The basis for this painting was the composite of two photographs: one of a windshield in the rain, and the other showing people around a campfire.  But these images are not resolved in the painting.  The mind tries to complete meaning, but can’t quite make sense out of the imagery, even knowing what it was based on. That’s what “Crossover” painting is all about: that realm between abstract and recognition.
