Lemon in Jar

Sometimes an idea for a still life painting only requires a trip to the refrigerator.  Here a sliced lemon becomes the star.  It is placed within one of my favorite objects to paint–a glass canning jar.  This creates two layers of textures– the glass and the fruit.
